Optimising Facebook for SEO – Melbourne SEO Guru style!

Melbourne SEO Guru on Facebook.

As you can see, as the Melbourne SEO Guru (MSG), I take what I do for a living seriously. Not only is the SEO wordpress site (there’s two on the front page… the other site is at the top in #1) but now my Facebook page is on the front page of Google.

All too often Facebook for business is used the same way. And that’s not a bad thing! Businesses use a Facebook page, like this awesome Facebook page (link to come soon as fb is currently down), to generate brand awareness, customer engagement and market via the social media platform.

What if you could add another notch to the ‘marketing belt’ by optimising Facebook to appear on the front page of Google?

Using Facebook for search engine optimisation (SEO) adds value to your brand.

Having your business website dominate the front page of Google is awesome. Yet having your Facebook page show up as well will provide new visitors to your site who are more inclined to use social media sites when looking for products/services.

You have to look at the front page of Google as multiple marketing strategies for there is:

* normal SEO practices for your main business website

* PPC (pay-per-click) advertising will also drive leads to your website

* optimising your social media sites to get on the front page of Google is another way for people to find you

Having multiple ways to get your business visible on-line vastly increases traffic. Australian businesses are behind the times when it comes to being on-line. You’re asking yourself, “how do I make google love me?” Easy – either click that link or email

  1. Oh my goodness! Awesome article dude! Thank you, However I
am encountering issues with your RSS. I don’t understand why I can’t subscribe
to it. Is there anybody else having the same RSS problems?
Anyone that knows the solution will you kindly respond?
    Thanks!!

  2. Hey! I know this is kind of off topic but I was wondering which blog platform are you using for this site?
I’m getting fed up of WordPress because I’ve had issues with hackers and I’m looking at options for another platform. I would be awesome if you could point me in the direction of a good platform.

    • I’m only some what new to WordPress (which I use for all my blogs) and find it so simple and effective to use. I’ve had not hacking challenges. Sorry to hear about your experience.

  3. Anyway to get new posts delivered to my email?
Or maybe simply an e-mail saying there are new
posts on your site? That would be really spectacular! Please tell me if that is possible.
